“ First time trying this restaurant and it left a wonderful first impression! The food was really good. I definitely recommend the sweet and spicy bacon to start. I also try the French onion soup at any new restaurant I go to and Johnny D’s French onion is easily top 5 I’ve ever had. We also got the grouper fish and chips and steak frites (recommend both). To end our meal we had a delicious chocolate cake and lemon blueberry cheesecake. Our server Dan was very nice and attentive. The ambiance was great as they had a piano player during dinner (they have live music on Fridays). The owner was also very attentive as he would come around and make sure we were enjoying our meal. I would highly recommended this restaurant anyone in or visiting Buffalo that is looking for a good night out. ”

“ Johnny D's was amazing the food was amazing I had the French onion soup it was layered perfectly in flavor would come back just for that. My partner got the scallops and said they were delicious. If the food wasn't good enough the service is better everyone was beyond friendly and kind. Our waitress Audy was amazing from the second she greeted us to the end of our service she made our night so great and enjoyable. We will be back soon to try more menus items, the atmosphere was wonderful but the staff made us want to come back again. ”

“ Spectacular birthday dinner at Johnny D’s in downtown Buffalo! We went on a Tuesday evening and practically had the restaurant to ourselves, making it feel like a private celebration! The owner was there to greet us with a warm, welcoming smile and checked in several times to make sure everything was perfect. Our server, Dan, was fantastic—he truly went above and beyond to accommodate us! The cocktails were great, and the food was excellent. I had the Chicken Piccata, which came as a large, super flavorful portion with a delicious sauce I loved. They even surprised us with a complimentary birthday dessert—a light, lemon crepe-style cake that was amazing. The atmosphere is elegant with beautiful décor, luxury steakhouse vibes, and a gorgeous chandelier. I’ve been here before when it was EB Greens as well as Morton’s, and I absolutely love how they’ve redesigned the space up front. Valet parking is always appreciated, too! The hotel charges a $10 fee, but it's worth it. I hope they stay open for a long time to come! Can’t wait to return soon—highly recommend! ”

“ We had an incredible dining experience from start to finish. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good. My girlfriend had the rack of lamb, which was beautifully presented and seasoned just right. Each bite was packed with rich, savory flavor, and the sides paired perfectly. What made the evening even better was our waiter, Elliot. He was professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive without being overbearing. He anticipated what we needed before we even asked, gave great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the entire meal. His service truly elevated the experience. If you’re looking for top-tier food and service, this place—and especially Elliot—is hard to beat. We’ll definitely be back. ”

“ We were a party of 4 for Thanksgiving dinner. First some background-we booked without reading any reviews first, because we had wanted to try this place. After making our reservation we started reading reviews and we got nervous as the are many unfavorable. And we had an awful experience at Eckl's last year. We were very pleased with our experience and will definitely return. Well, we had a great experience from beginning to end. Morgan was our server, she was friendly and attentive. The timing of our meal was perfect for a holiday dinner as we were not in a hurry. 5pm reservation and after some chitchat at the end we were out the door by 745pm. Cocktail pricing is average for a hotel restaurant. Our appetizers and entrees all came out as ordered and expected. We had 2 salmon, one steak, one turkey dinner. Turkey dinner could have been warmer but it was fine. 4 dinners+6 cocktails and bread service with tax was $406. Now, just a couple of observations/critiques: *Have staff check tables and chairs before service. Our table top was very wobbly. The move was seamless and we chose a table near the windows. *When the dining room isn't full, don't seat everyone together. When we were sat, the dr was not full but we were sat next to a large party of 8 or 10 and another 4 top. I understand it may be convenient for servers but weird and uncomfortable for diners. Fill prime seating first. *When suggesting appetizers above the prixe fixe menu, make sure it's understood there is an additional charge. We were offered bread service but didn't know it was additional till the check. Again, a great experience and we will be back soon. ”

“ Good atmosphere. Cozy vibes. Max was a great bartender and makes an amazing lemon drop!!! Chris the owner was very welcoming and sparked yo a good convo. We will be back!!! Thanks for being open in Labor Day! ”

“ The food was incredible! We had duck and steak for dinner and the soft shell crab for an appetizer and everything was amazing!! We sat at the bar, the bartender (Max) and the owner (Chris) made sure everything was exactly as we wanted and perfect, I mean perfect. The duck was beyond amazing, I literally ate every bit of it, the steak was equally as good but it was the wife's dish so she ate most of it but I loved it as well. We only took pictures of the dessert as we demolished our dinner since it was incredible, I can't reccomend this place enough, it was an incredible dinner, very fit for an anniversary event as my wife and I went for our 13th year wedding anniversary.
